Considering that 70% of the world’s water consumption is used in agriculture and total population will reach 10 billion in 2050, food production must be increased by at least 50% in order to adequately feed the world population. When the negative effects of climate change are taken into account, agriculture and food production becomes even more important.
Our company, which was established in 2008 in the Bala district of Ankara for this purpose and has 84,000 decares of land, has become one of the largest companies in Europe with its bovine milk production facility with a total capacity of 5,000 cattles, of which 2,400 are dairy cows; an orchard on a field of 3,000 decares and field crops production facility on a field of 60,000 decares.
Bala Tarım has adopted the principle of leaving a livable world for future generations by preserving soil and water resources, setting an example for not only the regional producers but also country’s agricultural sector and keeping our agricultural activities sustainable through conscious manufacturing.

Field Crops Activities
A fleet of machinery and equipment with high tech infrastructure that enables efficient work on large fields were created. Our company, which is located 7 kilometers from the Kesikköprü Dam on the Kızılırmak River, has created irrigated agricultural fields in various parts of the region by establishing agricultural irrigation infrastructure.
Orcharding
After analysing the climate and the soil structure in the region, trial plots were created and trials were carried out on different varieties and species of fruits. Following the results of these trials, production fields were created for suitable varieties and species of fruits.
Livestock
Our company started its livestock breeding activities by establishing a modern dairy facility with a capacity of 2,400 dairy cows. Bala Tarım, which has become one of Turkey’s leading companies in terms of milk quality and productivity, also shows the same success in breeding of heifers.
